Back in 2008 Afshan was one of the 14 chosen to be part of a Greater Manchester Police Authority project to introduce ways where teachers could talk about sensitive issues such as terrorism.
For two years the group worked on a resource pack for schools which included DVD’s, short films, and worksheets for students.
In 2010, GMPA launched the pack via an e-learning website alongside two other projects ‘What’s the point (Preventing Knife Crime project)’ and ‘Guns and Gangs’.
The pack was made with the help of PBC – puppet broadcasting company who make many dvd packs for schools using puppets.
The project won a V-Inspired regional award and an APA recognising excellence award.
